What is a chapter of The Fleet?
Local chapters within The Fleet are called "ships," or "starships." From our handbook:
This is where the main fun originates. Each ship is specific to a Star Trek Era. These include: Enterprise, Discovery, The Original Series, Movie era (Motion picture to Star Trek VI), The Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine (First contact to Nemesis), Picard Era, Kelvin era (Commonly known as the Abrams films), and Star Trek Online era. Each Star Ship will have matching or common sense costuming. They must be of the same look.

Types of events:
Ships within The Fleet have social functions together, such as "restaurant explorations," in which we socialize together to build friendships over shared interests. We also have other events such as photo shoots in costume, attending conventions in costume and at our display booths at conventions, and much more! Raising funds and awareness for charity is also another staple of the types of events that we do.
Costuming:
Be your own Star Fleet hero. You don't have to have a costume to become a member, but you need one to gain rank and launch a ship within the Fleet. Costuming is the first of the three hallmarks of our fan group.
Finding like-minded individuals:
Building fandom, which involves camaraderie with others that share a passion for Star Trek, is the second hallmark of our organization. By starting a local chapter and launching your starship, you help to build a community and strengthen fandom in your local area.
Giving back:
Charity. The third hallmark of The Fleet (Costuming, Fandom, and Charity). Ships within The Fleet have at least one important charity of their choice that they organize events for in order to help raise funds and/or awareness for the charitable cause chosen. We are all here to have fun, of course, but the reward is even greater when we give back to those that help others.
